I didn't think to grab a picture until after he was all corralled up. It took some quick intense setup to make for a "corridor of safety" for him up get in. He wasn't used to walking on cement and you don't just make a 600+ pound bull just do what you want him to do. He was very sweet tempered, but not going along willingly.
Then Quinn had the idea to spread hay in front of him. Worked like a charm. Dear Rasputin enjoyed one last meal on his way into the trailer. I don't know that I'm much of a cow rancher. It was an interesting experience, albeit bittersweet. I do enjoy good meat but we don't eat much meat so it's not like we are saving money. Like I said, bittersweet. I'm glad he seemed to be happy.

Our other "bull story" is from our Stake (church) activity last night:
What a fun activity! They got home late last night and I can't wait to hear the details. ๐

Tova came!! Almost 10 days of oldest sister torture and teasing, tickling and tenderness. It was gone too soon but we enjoyed every minute!
She helped with our play, "The Jolly Roger" (see pics of the play at the end), made empanadas, played games, sang songs, went on a hike and was just generally a delight to have around.
Piper and Lily are also leaving this fall... I'm not too keen on that, but I'm having to get used to it. Piper is my middlest child and now over half my children will be out of the house...hmm... more bittersweet.
Lily is off of work for a couple of weeks, so it'll be nice to enjoy her more! Then she's doing AmeriCorps for the summer. She's excited! We always love having our Lily around.
Figuring out my place and role as the parent to adult children has been interesting. I'm definitely not "settled" into it, but I've been trying to balance (or rather "harmonize") my creative service, family time, stewardships and personal needs... and it's tricky! I'm trying not to live up to this meme:
Quinn: “Hava found a copperhead snake while she was weeding the flower bed. She thought it was a garter snake and wasn't too concerned. Corncob moved it to the edge of the woods with a shovel. I was working at my desk and Liesl came in to show me the picture of the "gardener" snake. I thought "that doesn't look like a garter snake." I went out to look at it. I think it was Maia who suggested it might be a copperhead. I'm not sure why she thought that, but I pulled up some pictures and she was right. I went to get my shotgun, but I didn't have any shells. So instead I chopped off its head with a shovel.๐”

And JOLLY ROGER! What a fun play! Not a whole bunch of meaning, but lots of swords and pirate-y stuff ๐. The kids loved it and the audience laughed.
